A wick or lid aloneis not new.

An honest comparison of the free option, NEA-recommended plate care, wick trays, self-watering inserts and the proposed DryLah base.

01The options

We are notthe first idea.

Wicks and lids already exist. DryLah! has to earn its place as a whole base, and for many homes the free option is better.

01

No saucer

Free, and the right answer wherever drainage can run away safely. Not always possible indoors or on balconies.

02

Ordinary saucer with NEA care

Works when emptied and scrubbed every other day. The burden is the repeated task.

03

Wick tray

Catches drainage and returns moisture. Does not keep the stored water covered.

04

IKEA SVÄMSKOG insert

Self-watering insert with an insect-covering lid, listed at S$4.90. Replaces the pot setup rather than sitting under your own.

05

DryLah! concept

A covered base under the pot you already own, with a mesh, a wick and a screened overflow. Every performance claim is still proposed.
